However, affordability and dealing with student debt are now top concerns for most students and parents. Many Ivy League universities have experienced a record-breaking increase in applications this season, even as enrollment has slumped nationwide. Financial aid is more necessary than ever, with 98% of families saying it is necessary to pay for college. MIT offers generous aid packages for those that qualify, with the average annual price paid by a student who received financial aid being less than $20,000.
