Air Quality Alert: Wildfire Smoke Continues to Disrupt Life Across North America

Smoke from wildfires in Canada has affected air quality in Michigan, with an air quality alert in place for several days. Air quality in Southeast Michigan has been particularly unhealthy for those in “sensitive groups”. The air quality was in the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” range early Friday morning, and was expected to remain around that level for much of the day. However, air quality is expected to improve in Michigan by Saturday as the smoke moves east and largely dissipates in the area.
