Southern California lifts water restrictions for millions after winter storms.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California has lifted emergency water restrictions on nearly seven million people after successive atmospheric rivers brought belts of rainfall that helped alleviate drought conditions. The restrictions had been in place since June, requiring parts of the state, including parts of Los Angeles, to limit outdoor watering to once a week or restrict the volume of water that could be used. While the board lifted its restrictions, local water authorities may still have restrictions of their own in place.
