Controversy Surrounds Adoption of Ukrainian Child by Putin Ally

Russian politician Sergey Mironov, a political ally of President Vladimir Putin, has been accused of adopting a Ukrainian child who was taken from an orphanage in occupied Ukraine. The child's name and place of birth were changed, and the adoption is considered a war crime under international law. The Ukrainian government claims that around 20,000 children have been taken by Russian authorities since the war began, and the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Putin and his children's rights commissioner over the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
