The United States has approved the transfer of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine to help defend against Russian aggression, once pilot training is completed. Denmark and the Netherlands had requested assurances from the US that the necessary third-party transfer requests would be expedited, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken has sent letters assuring them of approval. President Joe Biden had previously endorsed training programs for Ukrainian pilots on F-16s in May.
