Russian Military Aircraft Activity Detected Near Alaska

Four Russian military aircraft were detected in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), but did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace, according to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). This incident comes after the U.S. government pushed back against Moscow's claim on Alaska, following a new decree issued by the Kremlin regarding historic Russian real estate holdings abroad. NORAD stated that such Russian activity in the Alaska ADIZ is not seen as a threat, and it remains ready to employ response options in defense of North America.
