Russian Warships to Visit Cuba for Naval Exercises
TL;DR
Cuba announced that Russian warships will arrive in Havana next week, emphasizing that the ships carry no nuclear weapons and pose no threat to the region. This visit aligns with the historical friendly relations between Cuba and Russia and adheres to international regulations. The announcement follows U.S. reports of Russia's plans to send combat vessels to the Caribbean for naval exercises amid heightened U.S.-Russia tensions due to the Ukraine conflict. The U.S. Navy will monitor the exercises but does not view the arrival as threatening.
