Ukraine Reclaims Half of Seized Territory, Blinken Confirms

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Ukraine has reclaimed approximately 50% of the territory initially seized by Russia, but emphasized that the fight to regain more will be challenging and protracted. Despite hopes for a swift victory, Ukraine's summer counteroffensive has encountered difficulties in breaching heavily fortified Russian positions in the south and east of the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy acknowledged that progress against Russian forces has been slower than desired but affirmed that Kyiv will not be rushed into accelerating its efforts.
