"Unanswered Questions: Russia's Space-Based Nuclear Weapon Development"
TL;DR
The United States has warned Congress and European allies about new intelligence related to Russian attempts to develop a space-based nuclear weapon, posing a potential threat to international security. Russia has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of such a weapon, dismissing the U.S. warning as a "malicious fabrication" aimed at securing more Ukraine aid. The exact nature of the weapon remains unclear, but the potential threat to satellites could disrupt global communications, surveillance, and command and control systems.
