"Maryland's Legalization of Recreational Cannabis: What You Should Know"
Maryland dispensaries will begin selling recreational cannabis on Saturday, following the legalization approved by voters in November. Adults 21 and older will be able to legally possess small amounts, use and purchase cannabis products from licensed dispensaries without a medical card. The state government has established a framework, taxation, and regulatory system for the new industry. Maryland's cannabis reform law also authorizes the issuance of new grower, processor, dispensary, and incubator licenses. The majority of the tax revenue generated from cannabis sales will fund the Maryland Cannabis Administration, while 35% will be directed to communities in the state most harmed by the war on drugs.
