'Rust' shooting lawsuit settlement approved by US judge.

A settlement has been approved in the wrongful death suit filed by Halyna Hutchins' family following her death on the set of "Rust" in October 2021. The settlement is for Hutchins' son, who will receive his portion in annuities when he reaches the ages of 18 and 22. The terms of the settlement have not been released publicly and were sealed by a judge in April. Alec Baldwin and the production's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, were charged with involuntary manslaughter in February, but the charges against Baldwin were dropped in April due to mechanical issues with the gun used in the incident.
