Trump Ordered to Pay Nearly $400,000 in Legal Fees to New York Times and Reporters

Former President Donald Trump has been ordered to pay nearly $400,000 in legal fees and costs to The New York Times and three reporters after his lawsuit against them was dismissed. The lawsuit stemmed from a piece on his tax schemes, but the New York Supreme Court judge found that the state’s anti-SLAPP law applied, limiting plaintiffs from filing litigation to restrict free speech. The judge deemed the legal fees as a reasonable value for the services rendered and declined to dismiss all of Trump’s claims against his niece, Mary Trump, who is appealing the decision.
