Disney Seeks Dismissal of Lawsuit by DeSantis Appointees

Disney is seeking to have a lawsuit dismissed in which they are being sued by Governor Ron DeSantis and his appointees over the company's efforts to neutralize a takeover of Disney World's governing district. The takeover was in response to Disney's opposition to the "Don't Say Gay" legislation. Disney argues that any decision in state court would be moot due to a law passed by the Republican-controlled Legislature voiding the agreements. The company is also requesting that the state court case be put on hold until a federal lawsuit is resolved. Disney had previously sued DeSantis and his appointees, claiming violations of free speech.
