FBI Informant Charged with Lying about Bidens in Ukraine Business

An FBI informant, Alexander Smirnov, has been indicted for allegedly providing false information to the bureau about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden during the 2020 presidential campaign. The 43-year-old informant, who had been a confidential human source for the FBI since 2010, is accused of fabricating derogatory information about the Bidens, including false claims about payments from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. The indictment alleges that Smirnov expressed bias against Joe Biden and his candidacy, and repeatedly provided false information despite being admonished by his FBI handler to tell the truth. Hunter Biden denies knowing the individual charged.
