16,000 NYSEG/RG&E Customers Still Without Power in Finger Lakes

After Wednesday’s severe storms swept across Western and Central New York and the Finger Lakes, NYSEG and RG&E reported progress with power restoration—over 60,000 customers re-energized and more than 78,000 affected overall—leaving about 16,000 still without power as crews continue work. Outages were concentrated in NYSEG’s Geneva Division (Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates) and RG&E’s Central/Fillmore Divisions. Penn Yan’s Department of Public Works warned of downed lines and debris and urged residents to stay safe as crews restore service.
