Two EF1 tornadoes strike southeast Michigan, damaging Ann Arbor and Melvindale-Lincoln Park

Two EF1 tornadoes confirmed by the National Weather Service touched down in southeast Michigan early Wednesday, one in Ann Arbor and another near the Lincoln Park/Melvindale area, with winds up to about 110 mph and 95 mph respectively. They damaged a school roof and the Yost Arena, snapped trees and light poles, and caused other structural damage, but there were no reported injuries. Additional tornadoes were later confirmed in mid- and southwest Michigan, including Allegan, Saginaw, and Shiawassee counties.
