Wisconsin beagle farm closes as 475 dogs head to Florida rescue

Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin is closing after animal-welfare protests, with 475 remaining beagles to be transferred to Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s Florida and Alabama campuses for neutering and adoption. The rescue had previously purchased roughly 1,500 of the farm’s more than 2,000 beagles in April, and transfers are expected to continue through August as Ridglan exits dog breeding, sales, and research/testing operations.
