Utah Communities Battle Ongoing Flooding and Evacuations

Cooler temperatures have eased the snowmelt runoff causing flooding in Salt Lake City, but a flood warning remains in effect due to clogged storm drains. Although Emigration Creek has dropped below flood stage, ongoing flooding is still reported. Hundreds of volunteers helped with sandbagging to protect homes and businesses. A mudslide temporarily shut down Interstate 80 East in Parleys Canyon. Flooding remains a concern in several locations up and down the Wasatch Front.
