Northern Lights Illuminate Skies Across Midwest and East Coast.

The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, were visible across the Lower Michigan sky on Thursday night, with some residents reporting being able to see the lights with the naked eye. The lights are caused by collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere. Many residents were excited to witness the phenomenon, which is regarded as the “Holy Grail of sky watching.”
