Democrats Secure Deal to Confirm Biden Judges Before Adjournment

The US Senate has reached a deal to expedite the confirmation of several of President Joe Biden's judicial nominees, excluding four appellate court nominees, in exchange for faster consideration of other judicial appointments. This agreement aims to bring Biden closer to matching the 234 judicial confirmations achieved during Donald Trump's first term. The deal allows for the consideration of seven district court judges in early December, with six more on the Senate executive calendar. Some liberal groups have criticized the exclusion of the four circuit judge nominees, emphasizing the need to confirm all of Biden's nominees before the end of the current Congress.
