Dems weigh rare censure against Rep. Randy Fine over anti-Muslim post
TL;DR
Democrats are privately weighing a forced censure vote against Rep. Randy Fine for anti-Muslim remarks, with some Congressional Progressive Caucus members pushing the move if Speaker Johnson doesn’t act. Support within Democrats is mixed, leadership stance is unclear, and the earliest possible vote would be after the upcoming recess. Some see it as warranted accountability, while others worry it could backfire and boost Fine’s profile.
