A judge has set a trial date of Jan. 15, 2024, for writer E. Jean Carroll's original 2019 defamation case against former President Donald Trump, in which Carroll claims then-President Trump defamed her in 2019 when he said she was "not my type" while denying that he raped her in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s. Trump was found liable last month for battery and defamation against her.
