"Florida House Members Miss Impeachment Vote Due to Palm Beach Flight Delays"

Two Florida House members, Rep. Brian Mast and Rep. Lois Frankel, missed the vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas due to massive flight delays at Palm Beach International Airport. Mast, who intended to vote for impeachment, and Frankel, who planned to vote against it, were both stranded at the airport and unable to make it back to Washington, D.C., in time for the crucial vote. The House voted 214-213 to impeach Mayorkas, making him the first sitting U.S. Cabinet official to be impeached in nearly 150 years. The charges now go to the Senate for a trial, but there is little interest from senators, and the matter may be shelved to a committee.
