GOP's Abortion Conundrum for 2024 Election

Republicans need to find a middle ground on abortion to win elections, as severe limitations on the procedure are proving unpopular with voters, even in red states. A recent NPR/PBS/Marist poll shows that 61% of Americans support abortion rights, but also support limits on the procedure. Republicans should work to make birth control universally available and provide alternatives, such as more accessible adoption services and foster care. The GOP needs to demonstrate compassion for women as well as for the unborn, or risk losing elections and important religious freedoms.
