House Democrats plan to counter Republican criticism of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg during a congressional hearing on Monday by arguing for stricter gun laws and linking violent crimes in the city to a need for tighter gun control. Some Republicans have accused Bragg, a Democrat, of political motives in bringing criminal charges against former President Donald Trump.
