"Katie Britt's Rise Amid SOTU Controversy: A GOP Power Play"
TL;DR
CNN issued a correction after being accused of attempting to discredit Republican Sen. Katie Britt's State of the Union rebuttal, which included the story of sex trafficking victim Karla Jacinto. CNN's claims about Britt's portrayal of the story were contradicted by past reporting on Jacinto and her own words. Republicans rallied around Britt, accusing the media of a "smear" campaign, while Britt criticized the media for not highlighting the human suffering caused by the border crisis and cartels profiting from human trafficking.
