Mace–Mills spat tests GOP unity in the House
TL;DR
Rep. Nancy Mace and Rep. Cory Mills have escalated a long-running feud on Capitol Hill, with Mace threatening a floor vote to expel Mills over ethics allegations while Mills denies wrongdoing and calls it political theater. Speaker Mike Johnson said he doesn’t back intra-party expulsions as the House Ethics Committee reviews the cases, a dynamic that could strain the Republicans’ razor-thin majority. Some GOP members, including Rep. Lauren Boebert, have hinted they might vote to expel if warranted, underscoring the risk to party unity as leadership tries to navigate the controversy.
