NC Republican Chuck Edwards exits race after ethics panel calls for censure
TL;DR
North Carolina Rep. Chuck Edwards announced he is dropping his bid for re-election two days after the House Ethics Committee recommended censuring him for persistent, inappropriate conduct toward two young female staffers; Edwards had won the NC-11 GOP primary earlier this year and, after selling his McDonald's business, said he would finish his term, as the ethics report described lavish gifts and remarks that created an uncomfortable environment, though he denied any sexual propositions.
