Nebraska Senator Proposes 12-Week Abortion Ban Amendment.

Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt introduced two resolutions to enshrine reproductive rights in the state constitution and hopes Nebraskans will have the chance to vote on them. The constitutional amendments were heard before the Health & Human Services Committee, and one of them defines reproductive freedom as "the right to make decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy." The discussion made its way to the hearing room, where the constitutional amendments were on the hot seat for hours. Advocates of the resolutions include the American Civil Liberties Union and the Women’s Fund of Omaha, while representatives of the Nebraska Family Alliance and Nebraska Right to Life voiced opposition.
