Ohio Senator J.D. Vance Blocks Biden's DOJ Nominees in Response to Trump Indictment

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance has vowed to stall all Department of Justice nominees in response to the indictment of former President Donald Trump on charges related to his treatment of classified documents after leaving office. Vance has carved out an exception to his blockade for individuals nominated to the U.S. Marshals Service. Vance, like many other Republicans, jumped to Trump’s defense as news of the indictment broke late last week. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a bill on Monday to defund the office of Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing the probe into the former president.
