Pentagon: No Clear Evidence Iran Is Mining the Strait of Hormuz
TL;DR
Defense Secretary Hegseth says there’s no clear evidence Iran is placing new mines in the Strait of Hormuz, even as the Pentagon warns it’s targeting Iran’s mining and missile capabilities and shipping through the strait remains largely halted; U.S. and Israeli actions have produced thousands of strikes since the war began, a KC-135 crash in Iraq killed six crew and is under investigation, and oil prices sit above $100 a barrel amid ongoing hostilities.
