Supreme Court denies Trump appeal, sealing Carroll civil verdicts totaling over $100M

The Supreme Court declined to hear Donald Trump’s appeal of the E. Jean Carroll civil cases, reaffirming a $5 million defamation/battery verdict and the earlier $83 million defamation judgment. Including interest, Trump owes Carroll more than $100 million. Trump had previously transferred about $5.5 million to a court-controlled account, so Carroll is likely to receive the funds soon. The 2nd Circuit had already affirmed the verdicts, and today’s denial ends the appeals process in these cases.
