Supreme Court to rule on public officials blocking social media critics.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear two cases involving public officials who blocked their critics on social media and whether elected officials can be sued by users who lost the ability to interact with those accounts. The cases involve local officials from Southern California and Michigan who blocked voters from their Facebook and Twitter pages. The Supreme Court will hear arguments in the two cases in its next term, which begins in October, and a decision is expected by the end of June 2024.
