Texas Governor Abbott Vetoes Multiple Bills Amid Property Tax Dispute

Texas Governor Abbott has vetoed 47 bills as the 88th legislative session comes to a close, with more than half of the vetoes related to the ongoing property tax fight. Abbott praised some legislative efforts that he vetoed, such as SB 2275, but disagreed with how the bill attempted its solution to a problem. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick responded to the vetoes on Twitter, saying that Abbott cannot tell the House and Senate to work together on property taxes while vetoing legislation that they worked on together.
