Alexei Navalny, a prominent opposition politician in Russia, has lost almost 18 lbs in weight in just over two weeks due to a mystery ailment that could be some sort of slow-acting poison, according to his spokeswoman. Navalny was treated by prison doctors who refused to identify the medicine they injected him with. His supporters are concerned that he is being slowly poisoned and killed so that it attracts less attention. Navalny is serving combined sentences of 11-and-a-half years for fraud and contempt of court on charges he says were trumped up to silence him.
