"Transgender Athlete Rights Challenged in West Virginia by Blue States"

California's Attorney General Rob Bonta led an amicus brief in the Supreme Court case against West Virginia's Save Women's Sports Act, which bans biological males from playing on girls' school sports teams. Bonta called the law an "absurd legislative effort targeting transgender school children." Blue states argue that the law violates Title IX and stigmatizes transgender girls. The case was brought by West Virginia soccer player Lainey Armistead and her lawyers from the Alliance Defending Freedom. The Supreme Court has yet to decide whether to hear the case.
