Trump and Musk Rally Behind Rick Scott for GOP Senate Leadership
TL;DR
Senator Rick Scott, backed by Trump-aligned conservatives including Elon Musk, is gaining momentum in the race for GOP Senate leader. Despite Trump's lack of a formal endorsement, Scott has received support from several senators and former presidential candidates. The election to succeed Mitch McConnell as Senate Minority Leader will be held via secret ballot, with Scott competing against John Thune and John Cornyn. Trump has urged candidates to support recess appointments to expedite confirmations, a stance Scott has endorsed.
