Trump Seeks Retrial and Reduced Damages in E. Jean Carroll Sexual Assault Case.

Lawyers for former US President Donald Trump have requested a retrial or a reduction in the $5m damages awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll in a lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Trump's lawyers argued that the damages awarded were "grossly excessive" and that any damages Carroll receives should be in the "low six-figure range". Carroll's lawyer dismissed Trump's argument, noting that the jury unanimously found he sexually abused Carroll. Trump is appealing the verdict and has a separate lawsuit pending against Carroll.
