US Officials Demand Release of Detained Americans in Russia

WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife, Cherelle, have called on President Joe Biden to push for the release of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who was arrested on espionage charges in Russia last week. Griner, who was held in a Russian prison until December, praised the administration for its efforts in releasing prisoners like her and urged it to continue using every tool possible to bring Gershkovich and all wrongfully detained Americans home. Biden has already issued a message to Russia to free Gershkovich and the White House has condemned the action "in the strongest possible terms."
