US pledges $2.1 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

The Pentagon has announced a new $2.1 billion package of long-term weapons aid for Ukraine, including funding for Patriot missile battery munitions, Hawk air defense systems and missiles, and small Puma drones. The aid also includes munitions for laser-guided rockets, an undisclosed amount of artillery rounds, and funding for training and maintenance support. The package is meant to ensure Ukraine's future security needs and comes as signs indicate Ukraine is beginning a counteroffensive to take back territory seized by Russia. The Biden administration has provided more than $37.6 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia invaded in February 2022.
