TL;DR

Queens primaries are shaping up with a mix of incumbents holding seats and notable upsets looming: Claire Valdez leads to replace Nydia Velázquez in the 7th Congressional District, while incumbent Jenifer Rajkumar trails in the 38th Assembly to David Orkin. Other incumbents such as Andrew Hevesi, Clyde Vanel and Diana Moreno appear headed to re-election, and several open-seat races in the Assembly and Senate show early leaders as results trickle in and await certification by the Board of Elections.
