Wisconsin Republican Representative Mike Gallagher announced he will seek reelection in the House instead of running for Senate in 2024, dealing a blow to Senate Republicans who had hoped he could flip the pivotal US Senate seat. The battleground state’s Senate seat is one Republicans are targeting in 2024, but Democrats have an advantage as Senator Tammy Baldwin announced she would run for a third term and raised $2.1 million in the first quarter. Democrats also landed a major victory when Janet Protasiewicz won Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race earlier this year by 10 points and flipped control of the bench to liberals in the swing state.
