Minnesotan protesters charged after allegedly blocking federal immigration enforcement

Fifteen Minnesota protesters were charged with conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers, assault on a federal officer and destruction of government property after allegedly using vehicles, ice blocks and homemade shields to disrupt a federal immigration enforcement operation (Metro Surge); twelve were arrested, one was in custody and two remained at large. Prosecutors said the group surveilled officers and was connected to two Minneapolis-based antifa groups, and the case comes amid ongoing tension over the crackdown that coincided with deadly confrontations during the operation.
