California Braces for 12th Atmospheric River and Continued Deluge

The 12th atmospheric river of the winter is expected to bring heavy rain and snow to California, with the next stronger storm expected to arrive on Tuesday into early Wednesday. The atmospheric river will especially affect central and southern portions of the state, with dangerous driving conditions and damaging winds that could lead to power outages and tree damage. The onslaught of atmospheric rivers this year in the state has cut down the longtime drought, with only 36 percent of the state in drought as of last week, compared to 98 percent in early October.
