California Braces for More Storms and Flooding

California is experiencing a cold storm that has generated dozens of wind advisories and winter storm warnings across the state, with forecasters warning of blustery conditions and even more snow atop what is already a record snowpack. The storm has caused chaos and destruction, but it has also significantly eased drought conditions in the state after three years of record dryness. Once-depleted reservoirs are now healthy and full, and the season was so substantial that officials with the Department of Water Resources were able to increase allocations for state water agencies serving 27 million residents from 35% to 75%.
