Central Maryland Hit by Severe Thunderstorm

A severe thunderstorm moved through Central Maryland, prompting a tornado warning in Howard County that has since expired. The storm brought gusty winds, heavy downpours, and lightning strikes. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for small-stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall in portions of Carroll and Baltimore counties. The storm cell intensified in some areas, but most areas experienced heavy rain.
