A Code Red air quality alert is in effect for south-central Pennsylvania as thick wildfire smoke from Canadian wildfires blankets the region, creating unhealthy air and hazy skies. Forecasters expect hot, humid conditions, with near‑term guidance to limit outdoor activity, keep windows closed, and monitor air quality as conditions may downgrade to Code Orange if smoke concentrations persist.
