Heat and Storm Warnings Across South Plains and North Texas.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the majority of the South Plains, including Lubbock, until 11 p.m. tonight. Two Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect for portions of Parmer, Castro, Bailey, and Lamb counties until 5:45 p.m. with wind speeds up to 70 mph and hail up to 2" in diameter. Storm chances will persist throughout the evening with overnight low temperatures in the lower 70s and high temperatures near 106° on Saturday.
