Improving Air Quality and Storm Chances Ahead

Scattered storms have helped improve air quality in the Washington D.C. area, but it is uncertain how long the cleaner air will last. Temperatures will remain hot and humid through the Fourth of July, with the possibility of haze and afternoon/evening storms. Showers and storms are expected to decrease by Independence Day, but temperatures will be in the low 90s. Another low-pressure system may bring smoke back to the region early next week.
