Minnesota Braces for Severe Winter Storm with Mixed Precipitation and Thunderstorms.

Minnesota is experiencing a wide range of weather conditions, including heavy snow, ice, rain, thunder, hail, and a severe weather risk. Blizzard and winter storm warnings are in effect for areas north of Fergus Falls through Duluth, with high winds causing blowing snow and blizzard conditions. An ice storm warning is posted for much of northwest Wisconsin and includes Pine County in Minnesota, with up to 0.4 inches of ice accumulation expected. Gale and storm warnings are in effect along Lake Superior, with waves as high as 15 to 20 feet possible. Thunderstorms and a severe weather risk are expected in the milder air to the south, with most of the severe weather potential across southeastern Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
